Cooling Tower Chlorination

Cooling Tower Cleaning | Chlorination

Cleaning and chlorination of cooling towers should be carried out at least every 6 months in order to comply with the ACOP L8. Cooling towers should be properly pre-chlorinated to make them safe. All removable parts should then be removed and fully cleaned to remove all traces of scale and algae.

The cooling tower fill pack is an area considered high risk by the HSE and it should be fully removed for cleaning every 12 months. Where cooling tower pack cannot be removed for cleaning then an in-situ foaming cleaner should be used in conjunction with endoscopy examination to ensure that all areas of the cooling tower are clean.

Water Hygiene Solutions Ltd can provide full cleaning and chlorination of all types and sizes of industrial cooling towers and evaporative condensers. Using high power cleaning equipment and high quality cleaning chemicals we can ensure your cooling tower is left clean and Legionella free.

A full post clean chlorination and reinstatement will also be carried out to ensure your cooling tower is both Legionella free and also protected from scale and corrosion until such time as your normal water treatment chemicals take effect.
